Questions About Blue Dog Media
What’s The Process of Working Together?
The first step towards working together is a discovery call. This call allows us to learn more about your business, and for you to ask us any questions that you may have. At the end of this call, we’ll decide if it makes sense for us to sit down to go over a proposal for your Blueprint.
The Blueprint is a two-week process that takes a deep dive into your business, competitors, and market place. The result is a custom strategy that’s specifically designed for your businesses success.
See exactly what goes into the Blueprint by watching this video. (VIDEO COMING SOON)
We’ll present to you all of our findings as well as your success strategy. We can then execute the strategy, or you can take it and run.
When executing your success strategy, there are some things you can expect of us…
Not only will you know the strategy before we even start executing it, you’ll also have access to our project management folder in Google Drive. Meaning, you’ll be able to see our actual work files.
Change Log File
While this file is more for us internally, you’ll have access to our Change Log file. This spreadsheet lists out changes we’ve made to the website or other properties such as Google Analytics.
After just about every task has been completed, you’ll get an email updating you as to the completion of the task.
Meetings Whenever You Need
You’ll have a calendar link to schedule a meeting whenever you need one.
Why The Blueprint?
The reason why we offer custom services rather than packages, is that every business has unique challenges. By doing a deep-dive on your specific needs, we’re able to create a plan of attack just for you.
You’ll get better results, faster.
We’re looking at what you need in your marketplace. There is no specific amount of content, words on a page, number of links, or anchor text distribution that’s universal. If we did the same thing for everyone who invested the same amount, some would get results, some wouldn’t.
We’re looking to maximize the amount of money you can make.
The Blueprint is a separate engagement. A one-time investment based on the size and complexity of your website. There’s nothing to sign, and after two weeks, if you don’t like us - you can walk away.
How Does Reporting Work?
Every month, you’ll receive an email informing you that the month has concluded while providing links to your reports.
Our primary method of reporting is using Google Data Studio dashboards using data from Google Analytics, Google Search Console, and Google My Business.
You’ll also have access to our rank tracker as well as your live links file.
How Often Will We Talk?
We communicate with our clients over both emails and phone calls.
We do our best to accommodate your communication style. Some clients want most discussions to be handled over the phone, others want to have a monthly calls, and others prefer keeping everything in emails.
You just need to be clear with us about your communication expectations.
For phone calls, you’ll have a calendar link to schedule any time slot in our availability.
How Do You Keep Up With The Industry?
Every week, we review our 2 dozen industry news websites.
We attend (and sometimes speak at) multiple conferences every year.
We take courses anytime we believe that there’s something useful that we can learn from them.
We’re also part of several private masterminds.
What Type of Clients Do You Work With?
We currently focus on local marketing. Meaning, we help businesses show up online when prospective customers are searching for a local business. Most of our client base are service businesses.
Here are some of the industries we’ve worked with extensively.
Home services / contractors
CPAs / accounting firms

What Is This Going To Cost Us?
Good marketing isn’t a cost. It’s an investment that you will make a return on.
What you should invest isn’t as simple as saying a number. It depends on a couple of factors:
What kind of budget does your monthly cash flow allow for?
How competitive is your industry?
How aggressive are your competitors with their online marketing?
What’s the scope of the campaign? Just your city, a county, a state, a region?
What are your goals?
How aggressive do you want to be / what kind of time frame do you want to reach your goals in?
We don’t work with businesses who can’t afford at least a $1,000 a month investment in their marketing. We can help ballpark an estimate for you if you contact us.
Questions About The Work We Do
Is SEO Right For My Business?
SEO is a long-term marketing investment that’s best for mature businesses that have the cash flow to support a long-term campaign that likely won’t generate an ROI for several months.
Questions to ask yourself:
Based on our monthly cash flow, what kind of investment can we afford to make?
What is the outcome we want to achieve that investment?
How Long Does It Take To Rank?
That’s the wrong question to ask. Rankings are vanity, profit is sanity.
What matters is whether or not you’re making money from your investment.
We wrote about this here (link coming soon). You can sometimes rank #4 but still make a 3x, 5x, or even a 10x return.
With that said, timeframes for seeing an ROI differ. Some clients can start seeing a return 2 months into the campaign. Others, it takes 4-6 months. Competitive markets can take longer.
Will We Be Affected By Google Algorithm Changes?
Of course you will.
With some updates, you may notice little to no change, whereas other can have a much larger impact.
Updates can make our lives easier or more difficult. We do our best to “future proof” our work, but there’s no such thing as being “completely safe” we’ve seen websites affected negatively and positively by changes made to their website years before an update.
What About Bing, Yahoo, and Other Search Engines?
As of right now, Google has over a 90% market share. We first focus on Google because of this. For some clients, it does make sense to have a campaign that focuses on other search engines.
